Timeplast began when a PepsiCo environmental executive concluded that no amount of recycling would fix a material designed to last forever. The fix had to be the material.
Manuel Rendon.
American scientist and inventor, born in San Cristóbal, Venezuela. He graduated as an environmental engineer with a major in chemistry from Tachira Experimental University. At PepsiCo, as National Environmental Coordinator (2014 to 2016), he saw first-hand that the industry's recycling math did not close. The company was formed in 2013; he filed his first U.S. patent for plastic-degradation technology in 2014, and has led Timeplast full time since 2016.
After years of R&D he arrived at the water-soluble, time-programmable copolymer behind every Timeplast product, part of a portfolio of seven granted U.S. patents. He also founded String Cubed, which designs the TimeMass functional filaments that Timeplast produces and sells. He wrote his first scientific paper on plastic pollution in 2004 and is Deplastificator #000001.
Time of use should equal lifespan.
Plastics are built to last forever and used for minutes. Timeplast's mission is to make the time of use perfectly match the lifespan of the material, and its purpose is to accelerate the world's transition to a Type 1 civilization on the Kardashev scale: a chemically balanced civilization with water as the solvent king.

Timeplast owns the material platform: polymerization, water solubility, molecular weight, extrusion. String Cubed, also founded by Manuel Rendon, designs the TimeMass functional filaments, which Timeplast produces and sells, and is developing the Manifester. The two work under a master collaboration agreement.
