Did Timeplast invent water soluble plastics?
No, we didn’t invent water soluble plastics. PVA for example (dishwasher pods film material), was invented back in 1924, yet have you ever seen a mass commercial implementation of PVA? PVA in the consumer packaging space has been relegated to detergent pods. All hydro soluble polymers invented in the past have the same issue; their challenge in being a feasible substitute for conventional plastic given the fact that they begin to dissolve immediately after they come in contact with water.
Timeplast's main technological point, and our key innovation behind all of our patents is the discovery of a chemical pathway which allows us to induce a copolymerization level that would render a chain both hydrophobic for a limited period of time, to then hydrophilic turn polar and become completely water soluble, in other words the main difference between all water soluble plastics of the past and Timeplast is the programmability of its portfolio.
Making a plastic exclusively non-soluble or soluble is easy, which is why all plastics are that way. Making them water resistant for a limited period of time (which is logically required if we want to substitute the uses of conventional plastic) and then fully soluble (like sugar) is precisely the problem which Timeplast has addressed and solved.
